I create maskes as an invitation into different worlds and situations. These maskes represent places, a portal into a different universe. I use found objects and everyday materials in unconventional ways, oftentimes transforming these mundane pieces into elements for my maskes. Each work is a continuation and a synthesizing of new ideas that build upon its predecessors. The maskes exist not as objects, but as evolving and self-governing works.

hand sewing 101
Learn 6 fundamental hand sewing techniques that will serve for a variety of possible projects. This beginner-level course will cover technical skills and demonstrate how those skills can be applied to clothing repair and beyond. No sewing machines required.

shibori 101
Create unique fabric patterns through resist dyeing in the Shibori method. This entry level class will cover the basics of fabric dyeing, dabble in some history, and explain the science behind the chemical processes. Students will learn various resist techniques and create their own samples. All materials for this class are included.

alterations 101
This workshop will teach students how to perform basic alterations for themselves without a sewing machine. Students will learn how to sew back a button, repair holes, and shorten garments. Knowing basic hand sewing for this class is encouraged.
